3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads help deliver a truly professional-grade finish on paint, fiberglass and gelcoat - ideal for compounding cars, boats, trucks and RVs. Great for smoothing surfaces after you've sanded them or if they are heavily oxidized, these pads are designed to work with rubbing compound to eliminate small scratches and other defects before polishing. The face is designed with a waffle pattern that helps maintain consistent contact with the surface without creating extra heat. The double-sided compounding pad features Quick Connect attachment - a durable center plate slides onto rotary polishing tools, and the 3M™ Perfect-It™ Quick Connect Adaptor (05752) includes a locking system that locks the pad securely on the tool, eliminating fly-offs. The system also automatically centers the pad to reduce vibration and wobbling for easier, more effective compounding. Use the 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pad with 3M™ Perfect-It™ Rubbing Compound (06085). All of these products are part of the 3M™ Perfect-It™ Paint Finishing System. It includes 3M™ Perfect-It™ Machine Polish (06064), 3M™ Perfect-It™ Ultrafine Machine Polish (06068) and 3M™ Perfect-It™ compounding and polishing pads. Caps on compound and polishes are color-coded with the pads so you can easily identify the right pad with the right material.
